MYSTERY: Door knob removal mystery! I have a pre-war glass doorknobs with no obvious way to remove it!! (No visible screws or slots, no moveable plates). I'll post a video below for anyone else who has the same problem. The knobs moved a TINY bit and on one side we could raise the plate slightly from the door, and squeeze a flat screwdriver underneath, which we then used to 'pop' the base plate (and knob) off. r/DIY now has a Discord channel! Many thanks to those below that suggested counter turning both knobs - with a friend, we turned the knobs in opposite directions (both counterclockwise on their relevant side).
